We are seeking a licensed and experienced Commercial Pest Control Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing an established commercial route, executing detailed inspections, diagnosing pest issues, and implementing customized, eco-friendly treatment plans.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for our commercial clients, requiring excellent communication skills to explain technical findings, structural recommendations, and compliance documentation. This position demands a high level of autonomy, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining rigorous safety standards in diverse commercial environments.
Responsibilities
• Routine Inspections & Diagnosis: Conduct thorough inspections of commercial properties (including food processing plants, warehouses, healthcare facilities, and retail spaces) to identify pest activity, potential entry points, and harborage areas.
• Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Develop and execute comprehensive IPM strategies, prioritizing mechanical controls, sanitation recommendations, and exclusion techniques before applying chemical solutions.
• Chemical Application: Safely and precisely apply pesticides, rodenticides, and other chemical treatments in strict accordance with product labels, state laws, and federal regulations.
• Documentation & Compliance: Complete digital service reports after every visit, detailing pest activity logs, chemical usage records, structural deficiencies, and corrective actions taken to maintain regulatory compliance (such as HACCP or AIB standards).
• Client Consultation: Build strong relationships with facility managers, providing clear verbal and written reports regarding current pest pressures and preventative measures they must take.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain proper inventory, cleanliness, and calibration of all service equipment, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE) provided.
Requirements & Qualifications
• Licensing: Valid state-issued Commercial Pest Control Applicator License or Certified Technician certification (required at time of application).
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience managing commercial pest control routes.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; ongoing industry-specific continuing education units (CEUs) are highly desirable.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of urban pest biology, identification (rodents, crawling insects, flying insects, stored product pests), and modern chemical application technologies.
• Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, crawl into confined spaces (attics, crawlspaces), and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Background & Driving Record: Clean driving record and valid driver’s license (required for operating company service vehicles); must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
